I actually really enjoyed working on this assignment! At first, I thought it was a lot of work for one assignment, but after I got started I realized it was pretty easy. It did take me a while to complete this project just because I kept having to start over. Other than that, I overall liked this assignment. I learned a lot about PowerPoint while working on this. For example, I didn't even know you could turn off the next slide navigation and have it follow your links. Next time I would like to just be more creative with the project. After I finished creating it I realized there was so much more I could have added to make it better.     I am not too sure how I will use data collection tools as a teacher. I think the most I will use it for is maybe going over a lesson and attempting to gain feedback afterward. I hope to teach 3rd or 4th grade, so maybe I will find a way to incorporate surveys into my teaching. Using data collecting tools was easier tha...

So far I have actually really enjoyed this class. I have been doing this class completely online, and it has been the easiest class of this semester for me. All the assignments are decently easy and pretty straightforward so it's kind of relaxing to be able to work for this class. Even the assignments that take more effort to complete are still not as difficult as some of my other classes, and I absolutely love that. Also, I love how easy communication is for this class, I don't have to wait days or weeks for a response and that makes this class a lot easier too. When I'm a teacher, I hope to run my class about the same, I know how it is to have such difficult classes and not know what you're doing, and I don't want to do that for my future classroom.      Open education resources (OER) are educational resources that are openly available for teachers and students in order to provide help for teaching and learning. Academic Earth  is a good open educatio...

I actually enjoyed designing the website a lot more than I expected. I was kind of dreading it at first, but honestly after I got started on it I realized I was lowkey enjoying it. It wasn't hard at all, just a little time consuming. I did learning a lot from this assignment, I mean I have never made a website before so just making it and getting used to everything was new for me. I think I'll definitely have to make a website in for a future class, so I think this really helped me out in terms of things to include, how to navigate it, and hw to make it look pleasing. Here's a link to my website  :)     So far, working with Diigo hasn't been that complicated. It has been decently easy to navigate and use when posting to the group. However, I just learned how to annotate and highlight an article using the Diigo extension. At first that part was very hard for me to understand, but that was only because I thought I had the extension downloaded...

While I was looking at school websites and teacher pages, I found Astoria Park Elementary School . A lot of teacher websites have about the same information. Most of it is simple "Looking forward to this school year!" introductions. Almost all of these websites do have either a students resource page, any material needed, important documents, or even an assignments tab, making the pages easy to look through and find any need information. Also a lot of the pages have cute pictures on the welcome tabs, so they definitely grab your attention.     I think I am going to use technology a lot to make my professional responsibilities more efficient. I will definitely be using websites like Word, PowerPoint, Google Classroom, and Trello. Through all of these websites, I will be able to communicate with my students and peers more effectively. I will also be able to share more information about class and what is going to be able to make everything run smoother.  ...

Honestly, so far using Diigo has been kind of stressful. At first it was not very confusing, and after watching the tutorials I was able to catch on pretty fast. However, last night I was working one of the portfolio items where you had to bookmark an article and then annotate it through Diigo. Even after watching the tutorials and looking it up, I could not figure out how to annotate the article I bookmarked. It literally took me 45 minutes just to realize all I had to do was download the chrome extension that I thought I already downloaded. Anyways it was a stressful time for me because I thought I just wouldn't be able to do the project; thankfully its done and now I know how to use the website.     So far I like blogging a lot more than I thought I would. At first I would dread having to write anything and kind of procrastinate these assignments, but I realized this is not something I should be stressing over. Especially because everyone in this class ...

So far using Twitter for this class is very different than how I would regularly use it. Since I am using it for educational purposes, I am mainly interacting with other teachers or people who work in the education field. For example, during the live twitter chat, I was able to interact with a lot of different people and it was nice to be able to get so many ideas and just heard everyone's own opinion about the certain topic. I think Twitter will be very helpful in my future career. Interacting with others on the app has already made me consider how I want to run my future classroom and interact/communicate with my students.      When talking about the digital divide, that is referring to the gap between those with sufficient access to technology and those without. The digital divide is very prevalent in schools today, especially consider how the pandemic has shaped all schools to using online resources as a main source of education. Th...

The ELA technology standard I chose was LAFS.2.L.3.4. This standards main focus is being able to clarify meanings of unknown words through the sentences context, the words prefixes, root word, and being able to use dictionaries and glossaries. I think I could implement this standard based on my own skill set. I have worked with children for years and even was a TA in a kindergarten classroom during all of my senior year, so I am very used to children always asking me what something meant. When they would ask me I would try and use a strategy already listen such as, asking them what the the word meant alone, then with the prefix, and then just put those definitions together.      The tool that I selected from CPALMS toolkit was for second grade science, Rock Elements, Inc. MEA. This is a lesson plan in which children work together to decide which type of would be best used for a rock garden. In this lesson, only one type of rock can be used and it is b...
