Blog Journal #8

     I actually enjoyed designing the website a lot more than I expected. I was kind of dreading it at first, but honestly after I got started on it I realized I was lowkey enjoying it. It wasn't hard at all, just a little time consuming. I did learning a lot from this assignment, I mean I have never made a website before so just making it and getting used to everything was new for me. I think I'll definitely have to make a website in for a future class, so I think this really helped me out in terms of things to include, how to navigate it, and hw to make it look pleasing.     So far, working with Diigo hasn't been that complicated. It has been decently easy to navigate and use when posting to the group. However, I just learned how to annotate and highlight an article using the Diigo extension. At first that part was very hard for me to understand, but that was only because I thought I had the extension downloaded and it actually wasn't. For a future classroom I am not too sure if I would use Diigo. I want to teach either second grade, so unless I end up teaching a higher grade I'm not too sure it would be as useful as it should. 

   Today's Leaner is a good website for educators to help stay informed about trends in the classroom. This website has a plethora of articles and videos that cover a variety of topics. There are articles about mental health and technology, study tips, tips of coming back from the pandemic, and even ways to stay passionate about teaching. I think this website is very good for educators to be aware of, especially when wanting to keep a classroom up to date and being able to keep students engaged all the time.

    I love your website! The way the colors contrast with each other and go together is very pretty. You gave out information in a receivable way. I love the idea about having a class blog to encourage students to write.

    Hi Danyel'! I enjoyed looking at your website. I like the color scheme that you kept consistent throughout. I also think that how you kept the text alignment consistent on each page looks really good.

    So far I have actually really enjoyed this class. I have been doing this class completely online, and it has been the easiest class of this semester for me. All the assignments are decently easy and pretty straightforward so it's kind of relaxing to be able to work for this class. Even the assignments that take more effort to complete are still not as difficult as some of my other classes, and I absolutely love that. Also, I love how easy communication is for this class, I don't have to wait days or weeks for a response and that makes this class a lot easier too. When I'm a teacher, I hope to run my class about the same, I know how it is to have such difficult classes and not know what you're doing, and I don't want to do that for my future classroom.      Open education resources (OER) are educational resources that are openly available for teachers and students in order to provide help for teaching and learning.       Copyright is when someone has exclusive rights to their work, and others can use this work as long as others pay attribute to said owner. Fair use is a set of guidelines that allow people to use said materials for educational and nonprofit purposes. As a teacher I would just assume all material is copyrighted. I would also encourage students to always use citations and learn how to protect their own work.      Technology implementation issues can be described as the social, legal, or even ethical issues children can face when using technology in a classroom. An example of a technology implementation issue would be cyberbullying. In my future classroom, this could be discouraged through conversations about how bad and the effects cyberbullying can have on people, also by monitoring what is going on on the technology that is being used.       I do not have much experience using MS Word. I used it some during middle school, but soon I shifted to using Google Docs. I would prefer to use Google Docs really just because that is what I have used for so long. I know exactly how to use it and where everything is on it. I do not think using MS Word would be any harder, Google Docs has just always been more assessable to me.      The educator standard that is most meaningful to me would be to demonstrate cultural competency when communicating with students, parents, and colleagues and interact with them as co-collaborators in student learning. To me, this just means being away of outside or cultural effects that can influence life in a classroom , talking to others, or teaching. I think this is important because at least I have had some teachers that can be very oblivious to children having lives outside of school.
