Copyright is when someone has exclusive rights to their work, and others can use this work as long as others pay attribute to said owner. Fair use is a set of guidelines that allow people to use said materials for educational and nonprofit purposes. As a teacher I would just assume all material is copyrighted. I would also encourage students to always use citations and learn how to protect their own work.

Technology implementation issues can be described as the social, legal, or even ethical issues children can face when using technology in a classroom. An example of a technology implementation issue would be cyberbullying. In my future classroom, this could be discouraged through conversations about how bad and the effects cyberbullying can have on people, also by monitoring what is going on on the technology that is being used. Another example would be academic dishonestly. This could be prevented by making sure all children are citing all sources when they gather information, and make sure when a student turns in work, it was not stolen from any website or journal.

After working on the Newsletter Design Project, I have definitely become more familiar with Word and how to use it. especially because I made the newsletter and then the document somehow got deleted before I could upload it anywhere. Before I had never used Word before, but now I at least know how to add designs, work with headers and footers, insert images, and add functioning links to a document. In the future I could approve on filling more space and adding more designs or making it more aesthetic. The skills I learned will help me in the future because now I will be able to use Word to make any future newsletter I will need to distribute.

  1. HI Danyel'! I discuss the same technology implementation issues as you do, which are cyberbullying and academic dishonesty. And yes, I also get used to using Word to create a newsletter since I just returned to the application after three years of using Google Docs and Pages.

  2. Hey Danyel! I love the layout of your newsletter :) It was also an adjustment for me to use Word, having used Google Docs throughout high school. I really like the images you used in your newsletter, too!

  3. Hi Danyel, great blog post! I agree that it is important to monitor how technology is being used in a classroom. Like you said, this would help prevent issues like cyberbullying. I think it would also prevent academic dishonesty, which is something I wrote about in my post. Your newsletter looks great! I like that you made up events for the students like field day and a field trip. I have also learned how to use many new tools on Word as a result of doing this assignment.

  4. As you mentioned, citation is very important. Even when you copy any contents from social media, give credit to the person who posted the content. However, that post might have been copied from elsewhere. The copyright is quite blurry in cyber space.
